Quizás el último debate del viejo paradigma

Sigo reflexionando sobre la entrevista a Elon Musk que realizó The Economist el pasado 20 de julio. Inicialmente, durante unos días, sentí que estaba presenciando un duelo. Dos visiones enfrentadas. Dos modelos de futuro. Dos formas de entender el poder. Así reflexioné sobre ella en mi post anterior.

Pero algo no me encajaba.

He vuelto a la entrevista y la he visto de nuevo. Cuanto más los escuchaba, más me daba cuenta de que en verdad no eran puntos de vistas contrarios. Eran como dos ramas de un mismo árbol. Como dos hermanos discutiendo por la herencia, convencidos de que la casa les pertenece. Discutían con energía, casi con violencia, con palabras manifiestamente feas y agresivas, pero ninguno cuestionaba el suelo sobre el que estaban peleando.

The Economist (a través de su editora en jefe, Zanny Minton Beddoes) defiende las instituciones, la democracia representativa, el periodismo como contrapoder, el capitalismo regulado. Musk defiende la disrupción tecnológica, la IA, la autonomía del genio empresarial, el capitalismo de la abundancia.

Parecían opuestos. Pero compartían un supuesto que ninguno de los dos nombró: la inteligencia es la fuente última de legitimidad. Uno confiaba en la inteligencia distribuida; el otro, en la inteligencia concentrada. Pero ambos seguían respondiendo a la misma pregunta: ¿quién piensa mejor?

Y entonces me di cuenta: la entrevista no trataba sobre IA. Tampoco trataba sobre Musk. Trataba sobre el paradigma que nos ha gobernado durante siglos: la idea de que quien comprende mejor debe gobernar.

These aspects, while highlighted individually through different characters, are indeed meant to be integrated and nurtured together in a holistic approach to relationships.

In Lovetopia, relationships are seen as multifaceted and dynamic, requiring a blend of various qualities and attitudes for them to thrive. The novel seems to suggest that a balanced and fulfilling relationship is not about focusing on just one of these aspects, but rather about blending them all harmoniously. This holistic approach encourages partners to be empathetic, supportive, adaptable, spontaneous, and open with each other, leading to a deeper and more meaningful connection.

In our current society, relationships often face challenges due to neglect of one or more of these aspects.
